Flying Safely, Legally, and Effectively

Over the past two years, we've attended many events from trade-shows, to research demonstrations, to crop tours. The most common questions we encountered about drones in agriculture were:

How does imagery from a drone help my farm?

How do I fly a drone safely, and where can I fly it legally?

So we've created the Ag Drone Flight School to answer both of those questions for you, in locations that don't make you travel to some other province to take the course. Every delivery of our flight school will include practical instruction on flying drones, information on the requirements for legal flight, and seminars on how imagery can be used for farm management. Ultimately, the drone is there to make you money or save you money, and our team will present you with realistic information on how to use the drones on your farm.

The first delivery will be at the Ag In Motion grounds between Langham and Borden, Saskatchewan. The first day includes seminars on crop imaging, with special emphasis on the normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI) but also looking at true multispectral imaging. Demos will include on-site samples of maps created from drones, as well as demos of some of our unmanned aircraft.

Free Seminars

The five hours of seminars, presentations, and demonstrations are completely free and we provide you with a field lunch. Weather permitting, we'll be demonstrating several aircraft for you over the lunch hour. If you've been wondering what type of system might be right for your farm, this is your opportunity to see them in action.

Full Day of Ground School for only $470

The Ground School will be instructed by Mat Matthews of Blackhawk Aeronautical out of Edmonton. The course will include hands-on instruction on how to fly a drone, as well as information on the legal requirements for commercial flight. Registration fees include a small training drone for you to take home after the course, and successful participants will receive a certificate documenting their attendance. Lunches are also included both days.

See the full agenda here.

Update as of October 20: The Ground School is sold out, sorry. You can still attend the seminars on Tuesday, October 25. Just send Markus a quick text at (780) 266-4641.

We will have only this one delivery of the Ag Drone Flight School in the fall of 2016. But we'll have plenty more in the spring of 2017. Sign up for our newsletter to get notification when we'll be offering it in your area. Or contact Markus Weber to get full details.
